Alternative Grains Industry Statement:
Sign on to the Petition
The Federal Government is failing to assess the economic
impacts of
GE canola on farmers. The Gene Technology Grains Committee,
which is supposed to be developing co-existence plans is not
listening to
grassroots farmers or to many concerns raised by parts of
the
grains industry.
The Network of Concerned Farmers has developed an alternative
grains industry statement, calling on state governments to
implement a moratorium on the introduction of GE canola until
industry
concerns have been addressed.
We invite all industry associations, farmers, transporters,
grain handlers, processors and marketers to read the statement
and sign the petition.
